Worlds First Double Flowering Lavender!!

Worlds First Double Flowering Lavender!!

Dear Gardening
I picked my Romanesco Broccoli this morning in the rain. Hayden’s back at work and we’ve been having our annual “who can grow the biggest Broccoli competition.” It’s just a bit of fun, but it’s also very serious.

I’ve got help from The Romans this year. This Heirloom variety was first grown in Rome. It’s lime green, and so beautiful.

This amazing looking vegetable is so huge and heavy. It seems such a shame to eat it. I’ve been quietly admiring it in my garden.

‘Romanesco’ broccoli is an Italian heirloom regarded as one of the world’s most visually attractive vegetables. The lime green head illustrates a fractal pattern, with spiral conical florets within a larger spiral. (Stolen from AI) It can be eaten raw or lightly cooked, and has a nutty, slightly spicy broccoli flavour.

It looks like Green Cauliflower, it’s closely related.
You plant it in autumn and it’s ready to eat in late winter.

The plant grows enormous grey leaves. Everything about this vegetable is over sized. It’s enormous!!!!

Soil preparation is the secret. Tim’s Cow manure, Chicken manure and Tim’s FAST FOOD.
Success isn’t an accident.

The Worlds First Double Flowering Lavenders!!!!!
They have been bred in Australia, and now they are sold around the world. These exciting new varieties have the Lavender wings all the way down the flower. There’s simply more perfumed petals.

They are called “Lavish Lavenders”. They really are Lavish, and a bit Petalicious too. They flower through spring but then they just keep spot flowering.

Grow them in your garden or in big pots using Tim’s Best Potting mix. Give them a prune in late spring for more new growth and more flowers.

We have several colours available, the fragrance is amazing, it’s intoxicating really. They make great floral gifts, they are such good value.

Some super exciting news for gardeners!!!!!
New Trail Blazer Hydrangeas have arrived at Tim’s Garden Centre. These are evergreen Hydrangeas!!!
Yes they don’t turn into dead sticks in winter.

These new Hydrangeas are a ground breaking marvel boasting continuous blooms, they defy climate constraints. They thrive in full sun or shade, in pots or gardens.

They have large clusters that bloom earlier and longer. The evergreen leaves are dark green and beautiful. They can be kept at just 1mx 1m. They love water, so don’t disappoint them.

We have the full range of colours in our nursery today. We’ve got heaps, because we are expecting these amazing shrubs to be a sales sensation. Big plants covered in buds are just $39.99.

I was delivering potting mix into Harrington Grove and spotted this amazing potted plant. It’s called a “Black Rose”.

It’s not a Rose at all, it’s a super hardy succulent plant called Aeonium arboreum purpureum.

If you want it to get this beautiful black, purple foliage, then you need to grow it in full sun. It’s so easy to grow.
The bees absolutely love these nectar filled flowers.

Not many plants would be happy growing up against a brick wall, under the eves of the house, surrounded by concrete. But succulents are a gardeners friend. They can survive on less water, they store water in their leaves.

Cut them back if they ever get untidy looking, feed with Tim’s FAST FOOD. Pot the cuttings up, they will probably grow, using Tim’s Best Potting mix.

We have beautiful plants here that we’ve potted on, to make them grow bigger, faster. They look amazing.
I love this plant. So will you.
