Pink Flowers, Pink Berries, Pink Leaves! - Nov 09, 2024

Dear gardening friends
We have grafted White Jacaranda trees here.
These are absolute collector plants. You won't find these in nurseries.

They are so rare, we have grafted them here on site. They are beautifully grown trees, with straight trunks.

Grafted trees are guaranteed to flower white and we expect them to flower in the next four weeks. It's often called Jacaranda "White Christmas".

They don't grow as big as the mauve flowering Jacaranda trees so they are more suitable for smaller gardens or nature strips.

We have beautiful plants here for $149.99.
We have 14 plants only.

If you prefer the common mauve flowering Jacaranda trees we have them from $10 to $29.99.
They make great street trees. You can park your car in the shade.

This is one of my favourite native plants. It's growing opposite Woolies in Camden. It's called a "Pink Cascade" Lillypilly. It has beautiful pink new growth, spectacular pink flowers, which the birds and bees love, followed by bright Pink berries that you can make jam from. It's pink lovers heaven!!!!

"Pink Cascade" makes a beautiful hedge. You can prune it at any height or width. It can grow up to 3 metres high by 2ms wide. It can be grown as a small tree.

It doesn't seem to get scale insects or eaten, like other Lillypillys. It can be grown in a large pot using Tim's Best Potting mix. It always looks great but especially in the warmer weather when it has new growth. It flowers for months. Happy bees, happy birds, happy life.
We have them.

"From little things, big things grow". I've always been fascinated by a huge Algerian Oak tree growing in Jugiong. I park my van under the shade of this huge tree. It feels so cool when you come back.

Some people have said that it's more than one tree, but I checked it out today, and there's only one Algerian Oak tree but there is a Pin Oak next door.

This Algerian Oak tree has always made me smile, it's just so big. The trunk is huge, the serrated leaves are glossy and green. It's a park tree.

I've picked up acorns under this tree and tried to grow them without success, I was telling my son Bailey this story, I was telling him that I'd had no success growing it, and it's a wonder there isn't a seedling popping up here somewhere?

I looked around and there was this seedling. It was going to get mowed where it was, so I had to save it.

I got a coffee cup and cut a drainage hole. I cut around the plant with the knife, getting as many roots as possible. I planted it in the cup and watered it. It's home safely.

I'll repot it tomorrow into Tim's Best Potting mix and put it in the shade for a week, until it recovers from the shock. I'll water it daily. It's going to grow so fast!! From little things, big things grow.
I'll keep you posted on its success.

I harvested my home grown Garlic yesterday. Garlic grows under the ground like Onions. You plant Garlic in June and you harvest it now. If the weather turns wet and humid it can rot under the ground. I was worried that I'd left mine too late. I saved it.

If you planted yours in June/July it's probably ready to harvest now. Dig it up, cut the roots off, then hose off the dirt. Hang them up to dry in your garage. They must have good air flow or they still might rot.

It's ready to eat straight away, it will last till the following winter or longer so save the biggest cloves to plant again.

I'm digging Tim's Cow Manure into the soil where my Garlic grew. I'm adding Garden Lime to make the soil sweeter. I'll add a dressing of Tim's FAST FOOD then I'll cover with Sugar cane.

I'm going to plant Lebanese Cucumbers. Yes the Lebanese are famous for their Cucumbers, bread and backs. They eat their Cucumbers on the bread.

I love eating Cucumbers with Tomatoes and Fetta cheese with Olive oil and Lemon Juice. It's incredible.

Some great news for gardeners!!!! We finally have a Rose bush which I'm happy to say you can grow in a pot. "Zepeti" is a new release mini rose that's been bred for smaller gardens and pots.

It's an award winning Rose in Europe, now it's available at Tim's Garden Centre for you. It only grows 40cms high by 30cms wide. The foliage is bright green and healthy. The flower buds are bright red and beautifully shaped. It flowers non stop for 9 months. Plants cost $19.99.

Happy gardening
Tim
