Supertunias Flower Like Crazy!!!! - Sep 20, 2024

Dear gardening friends
Tim's Italian Tomato really is amazing. I discovered this pear shaped tomato while holidaying in Italy about 20 years ago. It's the best tasting tomato I've ever eaten. The fruit are huge, they have less seeds and they just taste amazing.

It's time to plant them now and we have beautiful plants available in the nursery today. They are extremely fast growing and prolific fruiters.

They can be grown in a large pot using Tim's Best Potting mix. You can grow them in your garden too.

Improve your soil with Tim's Cow Manure. Use Tim's FAST FOOD Fertiliser and water daily. They will need staking. I use several stakes and I don't prune them.

Pick the fruit green, when they reach a good size, and ripen them inside on the window sill. This way they won't get fruit fly.

They will taste amazing when they turn red. This is the best tasting tomato.
Plants cost $4.99.

It's time to plant Cucumbers. I saw them in Woolies yesterday for $9.99 a kilo. That's crazy, Cucumbers are so easy to grow, it's ridiculous. They can even be grown in a big pot and they will spill over the sides and along the ground. They will produce so many Cucumbers, you'll be feeding the neighbours too.

You can grow them from seeds or you can come buy a punnet. Prepare your veggie patch with Tim's Cow manure first. Just dig it into your soil. Plant your Cucumber seeds or seedlings. Water daily, and they will take off.

Cucumbers will appear after about 4-6 weeks. Yes they grow so fast. Pick the fruit when they are smaller and they are as sweet as strawberries. Pack them for your kids lunches, they are crunchier than apples.

Last spring I took a plant home called Supertunia "Jazzberry". I planted it into a big terracotta pot using Tim's Best Potting mix. It grew so quickly, it was soon spilling over the sides and it got covered in thousands of flowers all spring, summer and autumn. It was spectacular!!!!!!

We've now decided to stock the range of Supertunias, so we have all the colours you love to grow including, Red, Purple, Pink, Fuchsia and White.

Hydrangeas season is coming. These old world shrubs are back in fashion big time. They are easy to grow, but finding the right spot for them is critical, especially in warmer suburbs like Macarthur.

They like morning sun, then shade. If they get late afternoon sun, the leaves get burnt and the plants droop and look so sad, on those hot days.

But plant them where they get morning sun and they will be lush, green and happy. They can be grown in pots but they are water loving shrubs, so you need big pots, and you have to water them almost daily, in summer. Use our Tim's Best Potting mix for best results.

We have a good selection of colours here now with many more plants coming next weekend. If you're not a good waterer, then these plants aren't for you.

Mulch around them with Sugarcane to help keep the soil moist. They are incredibly hardy once established.

We are stocking Turf again. We have Matilda Buffalo and Kikuyu. Each roll covers .75m2. If you've got a bald patch, this is the quickest way to fix it.

Our supplier got flooded twice last year, so we are happy to support him. Buffalo is $12.99.
Kikuyu is $9.99.
It's available now.

Roses, Roses, Roses, they are all flowering now.
Come and choose the most fragrant variety.
It's the perfect time to buy potted rose bushes.

Happy gardening
