Come Smell Our Roses? - Sep 06, 2024

Dear gardening friends
It's time to plant tomatoes, and we've got one that doesn't get Fruit Fly. It's called Tim's Fruit Fly Resistant Tomato. This amazing heirloom variety has a natural resistance to Fruit Fly. There's no tricks or chemicals.

The fruit is apricot sized and this variety is prolific.
You'll get over 100 fruit. You can let them ripen on the plant. Eat them before they split. The fruit is so sweet.

These Tomatoes taste delicious when eaten at room temperature. Cut in half, then drizzle with olive oil.
Add Pink salt and let them rest. The taste will make you close your eyes and think of Italy.

Tim's Fruit Fly Resistant Tomato can be grown in a big pot using Tim's Best Potting Mix. You can grow it in the ground too. Improve your soil with Tim's Cow Manure.

Don't remove the side shoots, let this one grow wild. You'll need multiple Tomato stakes to support the plant. Use stretchy material, we sell it here.

Tomatoes need to be watered daily. They don't like being close to covered verandahs or under the eves. If they don't get rainfall on the foliage, then they get attacked by Two spotted Mites in summer. You'll notice that your plants loose vigour and the leaves grow distorted.

We have other amazing Tomato varieties here like Tim's Italian Tomato. This variety has huge pear shaped fruit that tastes delicious. Come and see us for all your Tomatoes.

It's that time of year when Wisteria start to flower.
This one's growing on an old farm post in Menangle.
It's a show stopper.

This is the Chinese Wisteria, Wisteria sinensis.
Wisteria are vigorous climbers, but they can be pruned and turned into shrubs. This one is happily just growing on this post.

They can be grown in large pots using Tim's Best Potting mix. You grow them like Bonsai.
Prune the wild growth back in winter.

Wisteria come in other colours like pink and white.
You can get double flowering varieties too.
They have amazing fragrance. We forget that sometimes.

We have Wisteria. We buy them in winter, when nobody is thinking about them.

Wow I just gave this rose the big sniff test. It's amazing. We bought this rose by accident. We asked our Rose grower in South Australia to send us roses he loved.

It's turned out the best idea ever!!!!
Who knows more about roses than him?

He sent us this beautiful rose bush. It's called "Granada". It gets multicoloured, highly fragrant long stemmed roses, that are perfect for picking. It fragrance is like a perfume bottle.
It's that good.

I also love how healthy the foliage looks. It's coppery coloured and disease free. It's a winner.
Come see. Bring your nose.
Bring other noses too.

Other body parts optional.
Hands would be good.

P.S Our potted Rose bushes are the best we've ever had. If you love Roses just come and see our selection. We look like Swanes Nursery 50 years ago when Valerie was alive.

Tim's potting mix is amazing, we've just had someone from Port Macquarie buy 66 bags. They even organised their own transport. Then Josh and I loaded up a Carolla with 25 bags heading to The Central Coast.

Tim's Best Potting Mix is 100% better than the next best. It's chalk and cheese, and it's not expensive.
It's a big 30 litre bag, so it's 20% bigger than those 25 litre bags you've been buying.

Tim's Best Potting Mix costs $$13.99 or buy 2 bags for $26.00. We will help you load your car.
It's worth the drive.

I had a laugh during the week. I was in the carpark and I noticed an invoice on the ground. I asked a lady if it belonged to her? No she said. I noticed it had a $2.00 discount voucher on the bottom so I said to the lady you should take this and use it next time you come.

I come from a long way away she said. Where do you come from I asked? I come from Canberra I thought she replied. Wow you come from Canberra?
No she replied "I come from Camden".
I laughed so much, we have customers come from all over NSW to visit us. Camden is not a long way away.

We have lots of beautiful plants in stock today.
You really must come for a visit. If you're coming from Camden, better pack your lunch.

Happy gardening
Tim
