And Then A Shark Fin Popped Up? - Aug 09, 2024

Dear gardening friends
We have this fabulous hedging rose bush called "La Sevillana." It's often called "The Red Iceberg Rose."
It's not an Iceberg Rose at all, but it grows so beautifully, and it gets covered in so many flowers, it looks like an Iceberg Rose, it's spectacular!!!!!

If you want to grow a Rose bush hedge, then this is the perfect rose. The orange red flowers look spectacular and it flowers for 9 months. If it ever looks tired, prune it back by 25%, then feed it with Tim's Cow Manure.

It will burst back into flower within a few weeks and it will be covered in flowers. Plant them one metre apart, mulch your garden with Sugarcane, and water often.

We have around 50 La Sevillana Rose bushes in stock today. Plant them now and they will be flowering in October. It happens so quickly.
Roses grow fast.

Potted Rose bushes cost $39.99.
We have over 1,000 to choose from.
We have all your favourites plus new releases.
You'll get 5% off with your Club Card.
10% off for Seniors.

Magnolia Vulcan is flowering in our Carpark garden.
The flowers are huge and the colour is amazing.
This is a grafted Magnolia, that's just a bit special.
We have a few in the nursery for sale.
You'd expect them to fly out.
We have other varieties and colours too.

It's time to spray Clover and Bindi.
I'm using David Gray's DART. It's safe for Buffalo lawns and Kikuyu. I've added a squirt of detergent to help make it stick to the weeds. I'll spray some again in 7 to 14 days.

I've had great success using DART so we are stocking it here at Tim's Garden Centre. It kills most broadleaf weeds without killing your lawn.

Follow the instructions carefully to get the best results. Wear shoes and long plants please.
I wear a mask too, a Covid mask will do.
Don't spray on windy days or when rain is coming.
Spray again in 10-14 days to kill hard to kill weeds like Clover. One spray won't work.

This is why I get up early. I'm not happy with Khaled this morning, I followed an old guy all the way from Menangle this morning who didn't go faster than 60kms an hour. I couldn't pass him, he was all over the road, he could have been asleep. If he was asleep it would have taken a long time to run off the road he was going so slow. He was driving a Nissan Patrol.

I've just told Khaled I'm cranky with him too because he also owns a Nissan Patrol.
Yes it's a long bow.

Khaled has just told me a fishing story so he's back in the good books. He went beach fishing with a mate. They were catching nothing.

They had a casting competition, they got further and further out before they cast. Khaled says his mate was up to his neck, casting into the waves, when a fin popped out of the water. He reckons his mate walked on water.
He had me laughing.
I've forgiven him.

Happy gardening
Tim
