We have beautiful pots and plants for Christmas - Nov 12, 2021

We've never seen growing conditions like this.

Dear gardening friends

A mate of mine wanted me to come and look at his hedge. He was worried that one of his plants, wasn't doing so well.

How will I know it's your house?
I asked him.
"It's got a Gleditsia out the front" was his reply.

When I drove up the street, I said "wow" to myself, when I saw this magnificent Golden Gleditsia on the front lawn.

This tree is the perfect shape for this garden. The lower branches have been removed, so the grass still gets enough sunshine to grow.

It gives privacy from the street.
The neighbours across the road can't look through his house. When your living in suburbia, it's nice to still have privacy.

I'm sure a lot of home owners wouldn't be comfortable with a tree that's grown this big. Some people get intimidated by trees that are taller than the house.

But isn't that funny.
This tree isn't going to fall on the house and it's only taking up sky space. We have plenty of sky space. It's up there, we don't use it.

This gorgeous golden weeping tree would also shade the house from the northern sun. It must be saving my mate heaps with his electricity bill.

Sure he has to rake up the leaves in winter when they fall to allow the sun to shine in. He gets some exercise. The leaves go straight in the garden, where they breakdown and become compost.

But you do need room for a Gleditsia. They need room for the roots to grow out and find water. It's not a tree, you try and squeeze in.

One of my customers complained that the black seed pods, that hang down from the tree, " looked like fruit bats". She pulled her tree out.
She was cranky.

But I thought the black seed pods looked fabulous with the golden fern like foliage. I could see the beauty.

This is not a tree we stock.
For some unknown reason, it's a tree that people just don't ask for. We even had one growing in our carpark 20 years ago, and even then nobody asked me for it.

But check out this tree.
It's picture perfect.
It makes the house.
It's art!

Talking about art.
Have you walked through our shop lately?
Hayden has been busy transforming our indoor plant and pot area into something magical. He's got an eye for what pots look hot and what's not. He teams these beautiful pots up with the right plants to make them pop.

If you're looking for Christmas gift ideas we've got you covered this year.
Park outside our shop.
Walk through our nursery.
Choose gifts that look fabulous, and then watch us gift wrap them for you for free.
Life can't get any easier.

Our Frangipani have arrived.
Most nurseries might have 3 or 4 colours to choose from. We've got almost 40!!!!!!
They are all named varieties so you can start a collection. We've got the most popular colours, and the rare Red and Blue flowering varieties too.

They come with picture labels, so you can see what colour the flowers will be.
Plants cost just $24.99.
We have the biggest range in Australia.
Customers from Darwin want us to post them Frangipanis. It's crazy!!!

Grow them in pots, in sunny spots, and enjoy the perfumed flowers all summer long. Grow several in a big pot together, and make your own "Rainbow Tree". Choose colours that will go together. Use our quality potting mix, and you will be surprised how fast they will grow, this summer.

Frangipani grow into beautifully shaped small trees if you plant them in your garden.
Grow them up against north or western facing walls and they will survive the winter cold. They grow about 3 metres high in 10 years. They can be pruned to any size.
Grow more from the cuttings.
It's easy.

Fresh Cut Christmas trees are coming.
They will be available the first weekend in December. Last year we sold out so fast, it was embarrassing. This year we will have more trees. They are 1.8ms high.
They make your house smell like Christmas.

One of my customers let me test drive his Tesla. He was very brave.
It's like nothing I've seen before.

The dash is so simple and minimalist. There's just a computer screen.
There's no keys.

It's as quiet as a mouse.
It's like being in a library.

I drove around the block.
Apparently it's the fastest car on the road. I only put my foot down a little bit and it took off.

You don't use the brakes.
When you take your foot off the accelerator, the car stops.

My children want me to buy one.
They have no fear of technology.

It's raining, I'm not doing much.
Happy to test drive your car too.
Anyone got a Porsche?
Update your insurance please.

We have beautiful new outdoor pots that have just arrived. See them in our shade house. We have also discounted older pots by 25% so you might get a bargain.

We have a new staff member called Harry.
We think you might like him.
He's a bit quirky.

It's worth a walk through Camden at the moment. I got a nice surprise, to see Jacaranda trees, that I've guerilla planted, flowering today.
Time goes so fast.

If you've been thinking about planting a tree, just do it! We've never had a growing season like this. It's late spring, and I'm still wearing a jumper.

Trees have never grown this much, so fast. Get planting.
Happy gardening
Tim
