Bush Tucker food is easy to grow!

Dear gardening friends
I meet so many beautiful people.
I've just delivered plants and potting mix to Aurelia In Macquarie Fields. She has a garden full of old wheelbarrows that are spilling over with flowers.

"Wow I love your garden".
This was my dad's garden, I keep it looking nice for him. He died 16 years ago.

He died here in the garden, over there, he was pruning that shrub. He died doing what he loved.

My mother heard the front door bell ring and somebody told her what had happened.

My mother died here too. She had dementia. She was 91.
I looked after her.

It's become my garden now.
But I'm looking after it, for them.

I'm going to move to Melbourne, to be with my son. I can take my garden with me. It's all potted or in Wheelbarrows.

I always buy my plants and potting mix from Tims. The staff are so helpful, and I don't have a car, so it has to be delivered.

She yells out to the lady across the road. "Are you going to ALDI?"
Can you get me some milk?
We have a lovely community here.
Everyone helps each other.
It's nice.

I've forgotten to bring some of her items.
"That's fine, deliver them next time you're out this way, tomorrow, next week, that's fine."

We are giving free seeds away, so you can grow, an Illawarra Flame Tree, like this famous one in Kiama.
Isn't it beautiful.

Simply soak your two seeds in water over night, then plant in Tim's Best Potting Mix.
Your seeds will shoot out in just 2-6 weeks. Plant them into bigger pots when they get 2 leaves.

Illawarra Flame trees make amazing street trees. They could be donated to your local school or plant them in a park.

They are super fast growing native trees, that thrive in our hot dry climate. The spectacular red bell like flowers appear at Christmas time.

Pick up your seeds on the counter at our nursery. Your kids might like to grow these seeds. They will remember the year they planted them, that's for sure.

If you're staying home, we are saving you seeds, for when things get better.
So you won't miss out.

We are an essential service so you are allowed to visit us. We are open as usual.
You can pay over the phone and we will load your car for you. 46267022.

We've had a lot of interest in Bush Tucker plants. So we've sourced some easy to grow varieties that will grow in Macarthur.

Midgen Berry is a small growing native shrub that has sweet tasting berries in Summer. The berries have a sweet and aromatic peppery ginger flavour.

It has beautiful white flowers on a low spreading shrub with coppery coloured new growth. It's easy to grow.

It can even be grown in a pot using Native Potting Mix.

We've found a supply of these hard to find Bush Tucker plants. They cost just $6.99.
It's botanically known as Austromyrtus dulcis.

You'll find them on the native tube bench here at the nursery. We also have Riberry plants. It's Bush Tucker heaven.

Like a small teaspoon.

These plants both love the same conditions.
Morning sun till about lunchtime.
I've got mine in the kitchen.
I only water once a week.
