I lost 25kg gardening - Aug 14, 2015

Dear Gardening Friends,

Cancel your gym membership, eat as much chocolate as you want, the secret to weight loss is just outside your door!

Remember Hayden who started one of our Tim's Gardening Service Franchises? He has lost 25kgs mowing lawns and pruning hedges in just 6 weeks. He looks like he is wearing someone else's clothes!

Gardening isn't just fun it can make you loose weight too! Fertilise your lawn this weekend with Tims Rapid Results Lawn Food and you will have to mow your lawn more often. More exercise equals more weight loss. You will also end up with a beautiful green lawn.
Don Burke was ranting about a new Daphne called Perfumed Princess a few weeks ago on TV. Don thought this was the most exciting new plant release for at least 20 years! Well we have 15 plants only available this weekend and another 30 coming sometime next week. If you want one you better hurry.

Daphne Perfumed Princess has bigger flowers, bigger leaves, and it doesn't drop dead during humid weather like all the other varieties that have been released. The plants are small and the price is high ($24.99) but I still think you should get one!

Kenny is out of hospital for now but he will have to go back in soon to get his foot operated on. We have had lots of well wishes for Kenny and we will pass these on.
Here is a nice photo of Ken taken earlier in the year when we were celebrating his birthday. So many cakes get eaten at this place. We would all be fat if we weren't such keen gardeners!

The next big thing has just arrived at Tims Garden Centre. Kiwi Berries look and taste like Kiwi Fruit but they are only the size of strawberries and they don't have the fury skin!!!

We have the self pollinating variety so you only have to find room for one. Grow your new Kiwi Berry vine over your fence. Plant it on a mound of Planting Compost Improved soil. It has perfumed flowers followed by sweet tasting fruit in autumn. Beautiful plants cost just $19.99 less your Garden Club Discount.

Tomatoes have started to arrive but if you are going to plant them now you will have to cover them up every night to protect them from frost damage. Put a bucket or old pot over the top of them before you go to bed.

Tims Fruit Fly Resistant Tomato has been a huge success story for all our gardening friends. This apricot sized tomato has a slightly thicker skin which just makes it fruit fly resistant. You won't need any nasty chemicals to grow this one! Grow it in a big pot if you don't have a veggie garden. It does need staking. Use Tims Best Potting mix and water daily for best results.

Pig can smell spring to it can't be far away now. I hope you catch the gardening bug. We have earth friendly solutions here.

Happy Gardening
Tim
