Easy Christmas Shopping - Dec 12, 2014

Dear Gardening Friends,

We have had some disturbing news. Poor pig got kidnapped on Monday by someone driving a blue Pulsar with green P plates.

The crime took place during peak hour so the robbers weren’t that smart. One of the witnesses followed the car then reported the kidnapping to Campbelltown Police station.

The police were at Tim’s Garden Centre within minutes to check out the crime scene. We are hoping pig gets returned soon.

There has been over70,000 hits on Facebook and 400 comments so pig really is the peoples pig!

There has been some great news as we go to print. Pig has been safely returned.

A huge thank you to Campbelltown Police for the speedy recovery.

The first thing pig wanted to do was get back out on the milk crate to do what he does best.

Christmas trees have arrived and we have had so many families coming in to get their fresh cut tree.

Cameron and his father Gary just came in to get their Fresh Cut Christmas tree. Gary has been getting a cut Christmas tree ever since he was a kid and wanted to pass that tradition on to his family too.
Cameron even wore his Santa hat. He was so happy helping dad search for the perfect tree!

Some people take up to an hour to choose a tree while others take less than 30 seconds.

If you have taken a tree home don’t forget to keep the bucket filled up with fresh water. Your tree will drink up to 4 litres of water every day.

The more water you give it the less needles fall off and the more perfume it gives off.

We have more trees coming this weekend. Come early in the morning if you want a big tree. The big ones always go first.

Our tree is looking sensational at home.

Renee and the boys had a lovely time putting up the decorations.

Now when I come home from work I am met with this beautiful pine fragrance.

The house really does, smell like Christmas. If you had a tree as a child then this will bring back great memories for you.

Christmas day is not far away now so you are probably visiting the major shopping centres spending most of your time just looking for a parking spot.It just drives me crazy.

You could come to Tim’s and park your car just outside our door and have most of your shopping done within minutes. We do have a free gift wrapping service so we can make your potted plant look upmarket. We can even bring it out to your car for you.

Karyn has found some sensational Peace Lily’s. The plants are huge and covered in white flowers. This is the toughest indoor plant ever invented! It is often called a Madonna Lily or Spathiphylum.

But my favourite name for it is Peace Lily. If your indoor plants die all the time then try one of these.

If you are looking for a gift for dad then it is hard to beat Rapid Results Lawn food.

We have a deal at the moment where you can get 2 bags for $40.00.

Dads do love a green lawn and with so much rain about it is a great time to fertilise.

Tims Rapid Results lawn food has 21% Nitrogen. Shirleys No 17 has about 8% so that’s why Tims turns your grass so green.

Crepe Myrtles are starting to flower around the Macarthur District.

These fast growing upright trees are perfect for smaller gardens and the Indian Summer Range can flower for up to 100 days.

They are also powdery mildew resistant which is very important when we have this much rain and humidity.

We have heaps of colours available and they are super cheap. One of my favourite colours is one called Tuscarora.

We have one of these growing on our front lawn. Karyn has under pruned it to show off the beautiful smooth trunk.

Never prune the top out or you will end up with a shrub rather than a tree

Poor Blake has been away all week with a tooth ache so we have all been running around here this week.

We are going to Enzo’s Restaurant in Camden for our Christmas party on Saturday so if we are under the weather on Sunday you know why.

I hope your garden is looking sensational after all this beautiful rain.

Happy Gardening

Tim
